Oscar Predictions

Here's my Oscar list, with who I WANT to win and who I think WILL win in the major categories. This list is based purely on who has been nominated, rather that who I would REALLY want to win (otherwise I would put The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as the film I WANT to win Best Picture). Also, forgive the lack of visually-stimulating text...am writing this from my phone as it's been 8 days since we moved into the new house and I still have no fucking internet for another four days.

Well, other than Best Picture, our predictions are exactly the same this year. Looks like it'll all come down to that.

Well, you win out of the major category predictions this year. I won at our annual Oscar party in the overall predictions despite missing Best Director and Best Picture.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner...still without internet at the new house (will finally have it Wednesday) and having the best smartphone in the world is no use if your coverage is horrible!

Yeah, this was a tough one as far as Picture and Director. At first (when you did your predictions), TSN was by far the favorite.

Then a couple of weeks went by and TKS started to get a head of steam and was the front-runner.

Then, as usual, some controversy started to stir about the historical inaccuracy of TKS and TSN started to make a comeback.

In the end, I still thought TKS would win Picture, but felt sure Fincher would win, not only as a way of splitting the two big prizes for both the front-runners, but also because Fincher has won most of the directing awards, while Hooper's won very little.

For me, Hooper's win was the surprise of the evening...
